Ugandan State House Faux Marbling

Hand painted marble columns and pilasters fill the grand entrance hall, banqueting suite and meeting room in the Ugandan state house. All the columns and pilasters were in a plaster finish along with the surrounding walls and  various different fantasy marble designs and finishes were created to give the impression of grandeur. The surrounding walls were treated to our famous nuvoloso finish to create a colour harmony. We also used monochrome murals of the Ugandan coat of arms and borders as focal points above the doorways.  This project had a time constraint as the state house was being prepared for Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Uganda for the Commonwealth Summit  so our use of multiple layered water-based systems became vital.
