These giant columns are made of medium-desity-fibreboard (MDF) an engineered wood. They were designed by the David Collins studio for a restaurant in the city. The columns were built in a grand lobby that is surrounded by acres of marble that could no longer be quarried. Faced with the challenge of making these columns junxstapose and feel at home they decided a faux marble painted finish would be the ideal solution. (Commissioned by Calfe Crimmings)
