Twelve members of the team spend the latter part of 2009 and early 2010 working on a project for Interior Designer Nina Campbell in Shanghai. It is the first overseas commission with the team for our colleague Jason. All the team's skills were needed from colour design, site management and faux finishes. The hallway's vast walling was treated to a seamless paint finish from the nuvoloso design collection. Furniture was hand painted and antiqued, wall papers hung throughout the long hallways. The background on the papers was matched in a painted finish for the surrounding ornate window walls. A panelled dining room and the house's main stairwell were treated to a passagio finish in multiple glazes. Columns were faux marble and stone finished and a deep pterodactyl- coloured pebble stone painted in a period antique style to the base of the skirting in the principle rooms.
Hong Kong. Henry travels to Hong Kong to mix the bespoke colours and paint for our upcoming project in Shanghai.
Factory set up in China: Henry is requested to set up a factory in China which will be able to produce authentic antique style Chinoiserie screens for the vast windows on the project. This proved difficult as the weather had become uncomfortable so extra socks were required for the days spent on the factory floors.
